
Coachella Valley Music Festival and Stagecoach return in 2022. Both will take place the at the Empire Polo Field In Indio.
The festival, which brings upward of 250,000 fans over two weekends to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, was originally scheduled for last April, but was postponed a month before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then rescheduled for two weekends last October, before being pushed back again to the weekends of April 9-11 and April 16-18. Coachella’s three-day country music sister festival Stagecoach was scheduled for April 23-25.
The Coachella Valley’s economy lost upwards of $700 million due to the absence of both festivals, according to a previous report from the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership. This was a huge hit to several vendors, hotels, airlines and more.
Now, the two major events are making their epic return in 2022. Coachella will take place over two weekend April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022. The The 2020 line included Race Against the Machine, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Calvin Harris, Run the Jewels, Rex Orange County, Megan Thee Stallion, BIGBANG Brockhampton, Big Sean, Flume, Thome Yorke, Lana Del Rey, Louis the Child, and more. It is unclear if the line up will stay the exact same but regardless some of the biggest names in music will be present for both weekends.
Once the second week of Coachella ends, Indio has less than a week until Stagecoach, the annual country music event, takes over. This three day festival, also located at Empire Polo Club in Indio, is slated for April 29-May 1. Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett and Luke Combs will headline next year’s Stagecoach country music festival, organizers announced last Monday. Rhett will headline Friday’s first night of the festival, which will also feature Brandi Carlile and Ryan Hurd. Underwood will headline Saturday, preceded by Cody Jinks and Jimmie Allen. Sunday’s finale is headlined by Combs, but also feature the Black Crowes, Cody Johnson, Smokey Robinson and the Mavericks.
All ticket purchases for the previous dates will be honored when the festivals are held, organizers said previously.
