The battle is over and the Winner of the 2022/2023 Season of “Rock the Valley” Battle of the Bands is WhyNotFrank

WhyNotFrank is an Alternative Rock project born through sound experiments and creative forms. Their unique sound is a fusion of their different personalities combined in an ever-changing mosaic of engaging lyrics. Their work is created with the intention of bringing the public closer to meaningful and clear philosophy.

Coming in Second is Wings of Heaven which was formed six years ago after winning first place at a talent show. The band is made of three Tsang brothers: Jade (drums, backing vocals); Nico (keyboards, lead vocals); and Halen (lead guitar, backing vocals); and their friend Max Dennert (bass). This rising band is ready to take on Los Angeles and play their music which is influenced by a wide range of artists.

And Third Place went too:  Jokers Hand Formed in 2017. Joker’s Hand has catapulted itself above the noise floor of the Los Angeles music scene with its explosive live performances. Kevin Kawano and Matt Lau, both first-generation Asian Americans, seamlessly fuse together punk, alternative, and hip hop to create a fresh sound that reaches across the generational divide.

 “Rock the Valley” – Battle of the Bands, provides up and coming musicians, an opportunity to showcase their talents that play original music for their audience while contributing to the cultural and social amenity of the music community.

The Valley Cultural Foundation along with their sponsors, Department of Cultural Affairs Los Angeles, Gaspar Insurance Services, Councilman Bob Blumenfeld, Valley News Group, and Hollywood Foreign Press are committed to promoting live music, acknowledging diversity and promote opportunity for everyone.
