Founded in the 1940’s the Hollywood Foreign Press Association(HFPA) was originally comprised of a handful of LA based overseas journalist who sought to bridge the international community with Hollywood, as well as provide distraction from the hardships of war through film. More than 70 years later HFPA represents 56 countries with a combined readership of 250 million in some of the world’s most respected publications. It conducts the annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles every January, which honors notable examples of film and television and achievements in entertainment businesses. The Golden Globe Awards show has enabled HFPA the ability to donated more than $25 million to entertainment related charities and scholarship programs.
Throughout this difficult year and a half, HFPA has continued to support the Arts and culture in our communities. Late last month, HFPA awarded the Valley Cultural Foundation a $50,000 grant over a two year span to support our growth and return to the community after COVID 19. With their support VCF will be upgrading behind the scenes, working on our website and digital media as well as upgrading on stage with better lighting to provide the best experience for our guests.
Join us on August 28th when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association joins us as we welcome Tierra to the stage at our summer concert series in Woodland Hills.
