Now as we move into 2021, our motto will be we can, we will, watch us…
As we put this year behind us and move into the next, here at the Valley Cultural Foundation we are working very hard to make this year a good one.
Currently, we are planning to be back in the park this summer, though a bit later than usual. It looks like our concert season will begin with Councilman Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza and continue with regular programing into the fall. This, however, is all dependent upon Los Angeles County Health Department guidelines and proper permitting from Los Angeles Recs and Parks. Regardless, we are looking forward to our summer line up, which will be posted soon, and future programming both virtually and in person.
Before our summer and fall programs kick start, VCF is excited to bring back Rock the Valley – Battle of the Bands, which will of course be done virtually this year. The preliminary round begins on January 19th and you will be able to vote online as many times as you like on our website for your favorite competitors. The ones with the most votes move on to the semifinals.
Next, VCF is excited to be hosting its first-ever Photo Contest in early spring. The contest subject is musical in theme, i.e. a person playing an instrument, a person singing, a picture of a musical instrument, and so on. All levels are eligible to participate, and winners get cash prizes. To ensure fairness, all submitted pictures must be taken with a smartphone only and not edited. For information and rules, please check back on our website in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, in case you missed it, VCF, with the cooperation and help from our Emerging Artists, produced Voices of Hope, its first Holiday Album filled with wonderful songs for the season. You can purchase and listen to these amazing artists here. Look for more albums to be released this year with the magnificent voices of the future of music.
Valley Cultural is committed to supporting and encouraging Emerging Artists through various programs such as Concerts on the Couch. If you know of individuals who would like to be part of this program or others have them submit their information here.
Now, moving into the new year VCF will be hosting “Arts on the Move”, a new Podcast. Please take our survey and stay tuned for information as it becomes available.
Happy New Year from the Valley Cultural Foundation, and thank you for your continued support!
