A seven-time Grammy nominee, Trey Henry has been a fixture in the Los Angeles music community for more than 30 years. His versatility has led to a wide variety of musical adventures, including performances with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Henry Mancini, Pink, Herbie Hancock, Natalie Cole, Willie Nelson, Lady Gaga, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Idina Menzel, Tony Bennett and Dizzy Gillespie in some of the finest venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland, The Monterey Jazz Festival and The North Sea Jazz Festival.
He appears on more than 300 recordings with various artists including Ray Charles, Fergie, Boz Scaggs, and Linda Ronstadt.
He has worked on numerous T.V. productions ranging from “The Family Guy”, “The Mandalorian” and “American Dad”, to “American Idol” and “The Voice”.
He served as the principal bassist for 9 Academy Awards and 8 Emmy Awards broadcasts, as well as spending almost 9 years as the resident bassist for “Dancing With The Stars”.
As the house bassist at The Pantages Theater for more than 20 years, he had the opportunity to lend his talents to dozens of musical productions including “Hamilton”, “Wicked”, “The Lion King” and “The Book of Mormon”.
Over his career, he has played on countless film soundtracks, including “The Thomas Crown Affair”, “Jungle Book”, “The Greatest Showman”, “Ted”, “Frozen 2”, “Tenet”, “Top Gun 2” and “Oppenheimer”. A prolific composer and producer, his credits include co-composing and co-producing the soundtrack for the Clint Eastwood film “Sully”. In addition, he produced two albums for The Tierney Sutton Band, “Sting Variations” and “Screenplay”, Arnold McCuller’s “The Music of Johnny Mathis”, three albums with Kalen Henry, including “Not Forgotten”, “Blurred” and “Obscurred” and the soon-to-be released album of original songs by Ann Hampton Callaway entitled “Finding Beauty”.
