It’s a New Year at the Valley Cultural Center and we’re happy to say our resolutions are turning into tangible changes for good. As we head into our 35th year, our experience and success has made it possible for VCC to bring in new and better ways of doing just about everything.
Our concerts are the backbone and heartbeat of the VCC, and this summer we will be changing the name of Concerts in the Park to Concerts on the Green. More than a description of the beautiful greenscape that has been home to our Concerts for so many years, our new name reflects our deep commitment to lowering the carbon footprint of our Concerts and Movies in Warner Park.
Starting this summer, the Concerts on the Green programs will be printed on recycled paper, use soy-based inks, and incorporate a chemical free process for plating before it goes to press. We’re also planning a series of “Green Village” events for our Concert season. Held in a separate eco-space in our parking lot, our audience will find a variety of eco-friendly companies that will provide information on how to reduce one’s carbon footprint at work and at home. Each Concert will focus on a different Green technology and special offers will be available to all attendees.
But that is not all. You may have also noticed we’ve updated our www.valleycultural.org website. Our new design and user-friendly format will make it easier for VCC members and the public to stay informed about our Events. For local businesses and Concerts on the Green sponsors, we’ve added a way to be “Seen on the Green” with our online VCC Marketplace. An easy way to advertise to your customers, the VCC Marketplace will keep the community tuned into our events and raise awareness of your company.
We are truly excited to be celebrating our 35th season and hope you will join us not only as a community that supports the arts but as stewards of our beloved Park. We look forward to seeing you all this summer at the Concerts and Movies on the Green in Warner Park.

L.A.P.D. National Night Out
This is an opportunity for the West Valley Community to join with the L.A.P.D. for an unique crime and drug prevention event. Last year, over 3,000 residents met the police officers who protect their neighborhoods, enjoyed a variety of food and visited information booths. The event is FREE to the public. The event is presented by Valley Cultural.

Grateful Hearts
Presented by: Douglas Emmett and Valley Cultural Center
As in past years, Valley Cultural Center and Douglas Emmett will honor the men and women of the Los Angels Fire Department from all around the Valley. An event that is attended by over 4,000 people, Councilman Dennis P. Zine will also be on hand as our silent auctioneer. To find out more about how you can participate or sponsor this wonderful event, please call 818-593-6177 and a committee member will contact you.
